Served on-tap in a tall clear glass tulip at Big Slide Brewery (Lake Placid, NY).
A: Slightly hazy straw yellow with 1/2-finger of off-white foamy head with average retention and a thin line of lacing.
S: Very light malt graininess and soft orange/grapefruit and floral qualities of Cascade hopping. No yeast character.
T: Very nondescript beer that is easy to drink but missing some character. The maltiness is not forward enough and only a bit of unremarkable pale malt sweetness comes through. The hops flavors are largely floral with light orange and grapefruit with a light herbal note in the finish. Light bitterness and clean with no yeast esters. Just bland.
M: Clean and light bodied with medium carbonation and lightly dry finish. Could be crisper as you might expect with a summer ale.
O: Pretty lackluster although highly drinkable but needs a signature flavor note -- right now it is really low flavor, low anything.
