When the 8 Goths and 22 Norwegians made the voyage to Minnesota in 1362, we’re pretty sure they were thirsty. The RUNESTONE is an homage to this hotly-debated artifact and symbol of the Alexandria we call home. Much like the Kensington Runestone, this brew’s a little rough around the edges, with a peppery undertone complementing its semi-sweet malt bill. Runestone believer or not, one thing’s for sure: this beer is nothing short of a legend.

Sweet toffee on the nose and some sourdough bread.......moderately malty with a sourish tart finish. Limes...lemons....had to check the can and make sure this was not infused or something. Not picking up much rye....It's drinkable but not what I imagined from a rye beer.

Poured from crowler can into glass. Fill date is marked as '8-8-18'.
Dirty amber brown colored body. One finger of egg shell white head. Leaves behind a film of lacing.
Aroma of spicy rye malt.
Taste of medium dark malt with the sharp twang of the rye. No bitterness.
Thin mouth feel. Okay carbonation.
Rather thin all around (aroma, taste, and feel) but has the distinct spicy bite of rye.
