Big, sweet, rich maibock loaded with honey bread like maltiness. A light spiciness on the finish. I really like malty maibocks and this one fits the bill...never cloying though as the spiciness on the finish keeps things in check.
Reminds me of the Lakefront Big Easy Blonde Doppel I had close to twenty years ago. Just looked at my review of that beer (from 2003) and it seems to hit similar notes. This one might have a bit more spiciness on the finish but it is still very malt forward and rich.
I like it a lot. A little too much haziness on the look.

Pours a clear copper color with a creamy white head. Smell had fruits and bready malts. Taste follows nose with with some dark fruits mixed with malt and bread. Mouth feel had some candi sweetness and had a great malt backbone. A little boozy for my like ,well done thou it was tasty.

This poured with a towering creamy head. The color was golden. Carbonation was spot on. This had the malt and bread sweetness I expected, though greater depth in the malt would be an improvement. A touch more bitterness (the beer is at 26 IBU) would also help. That said, I would gladly put this in my rotation were it available in my town. It is a nice change of pace when American Trippels start to cloy.

Stupid name that hurts the score. Otherwise fits the part perfectly. Also not sure why breweries are making their Maibocks so big. Take it down a couple of % ABV and you would have a beer I could enjoy all day long. Although it is a bit sweet with little hoppy balance, I still find it very drinkable. Medium body and suitably carbonated.
