Appearance: Pours a slightly hazy golden color with a two finger head; spotty lacing

Smell: Brett forward aromatics, with funky yeast and vinous white wine grape tones; just a hint of rhubarb

Taste: Grainy tones forward, with horseblanket Brett flavors building; through the middle, the vinous white wine grape elements take over; dry with strong mineral flavors, after the swallow; there is some rhubarb and perhaps an hint of vanilla, in the finish, but those flavors are hard to detect

Mouthfeel: Medium body with moderate carbonation

Overall: Well constructed but the adjunct flavors appear to have faded, with time

Thanks, BEERschlitz, for the opportunity

had never heard of these guys before this one. its a cool beer, not as mature and complex on the yeast side as the best beers in this category, but its tasty stuff, and i have not seen this type of beer with these additives before, so i was surely intrigued and excited to dip in. the rhubarb is surprisingly natural, fresh, and forward tasting in here, lightly vegetal and highly piquant, with an acidity that really resonates with the bacterial one here. i think the sourness is really clean, which is cool for a newer operation to have this aspect pretty well dialed, but for me its really lacking in complexity, less funk, less flavor, just a bright clean slightly mineraly acid profile, im sure this will evolve for them over time. another cool feature of this one is the vanilla, i was worried it might run away with this, but its appropriately subtle, just sweet and rich enough to balance some of the acidity, awesome and autumnal with the rhubarb, baked tasting almost, also very natural tasting to me. cool use of the two additives and they linger a little in the finish with a white wine note from the base beer, tasty and inventive stuff, i hope to track down some more beer from these guys before long!

Poured from a 750 ml bottle

A: Pours a hazy golden yellow. Starts as a evanescent two finger head. Subsides to a slight ring.
S: a wonderful array of horseblanket, grass lemon, pineapple, strawberry and Vanilla.
T: The Rhubarb is present but not overpowering. The taste is lemon, pineapple with plenty of buggy funk. The vanilla is not present
MF: Properly carbonated, crisp, dry
O: This is a wonderful fruited sour. The fruit compliments the base beer and doesn't over power it. This beer has more funk than Bootsy Collins. Just tremendous

750 ml bottle into tulip glass, bottled in 7/2017. Pours slightly hazy pale golden/yellow color with a 2 finger fairly dense and fluffy white head with solid retention, that reduces to a nothing pretty quickly. Some light clinging bubbles on the glass. Aromas of big tart/sour lemon, lime, tangy rhubarb, berry, green apple, vanilla, pineapple, melon, white grape, hay, straw, grass, wheat, and cracker; with light notes of musty funk, pepper, white wine vinegar, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of fruity/funky/acidic yeast. rhubarb, vanilla, and moderate pale malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big tart/sour lemon, lime, tangy rhubarb, berry, green apple, vanilla, pineapple, melon, white grape, hay, straw, grass, wheat, and cracker; with light notes of musty funk, pepper, white wine vinegar, and yeast earthiness. Moderate fruity/lactic tartness; light yeast spiciness and fruit tang on the finish. Lingering notes of tart/sour lemon, lime, tangy rhubarb, berry, green apple, vanilla, pineapple, melon, white grape, hay, straw, grass, wheat, cracker, pepper, light funk/vinegar, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a while. Awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/funky/acidic yeast. rhubarb, vanilla, and moderate pale malt flavors; with an awesome malt/tart/sourness and tangy fruit balance, with zero puckering flavors after the finish. Moderate increasing dryness from tart/sourness and carbonation. Medium-high carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, moderately crisp, and grainy/acidic/tangy/tannic balanced mouthfeel that is awesome. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 7%. Overall this an outstanding fruited sour ale! All around awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/funky/acidic yeast. rhubarb, vanilla, and moderate pale malt flavors; very smooth, crisp, and refreshing to drink; with the balanced lactic/tangy/drying finish. Really well rounded Brett complexity and solid Lacto presence. Great balance of of the Rhubarb/vanilla, with solid malts to balance the acidity. A highly enjoyable offering.
