750 ml bottle into tulip glass, 2018 vintage bottling. Pours slightly hazy golden straw color with a 2 finger fairly dense and rocky white head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice dense soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amout of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big juicy/tart/tangy pineapples, fruit skin, peach, pear, lemon, orange, mango, melon, red/green apple, passion fruit, guava, berry, white grape/wine, hay, straw, grass, tequila, oak, agava, wheat, and cracker; with lighter notes of leathery/musty funk, white wine vinegar, and yeast/oak earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of fruity/funky/acidic yeast, pineapple, citrus/tropical hops, tequila barrel, and moderate pale/wheat malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big juicy/tart/tangy pineapples, fruit skin, peach, pear, lemon, orange, mango, melon, red/green apple, passion fruit, guava, berry, white grape/wine, hay, straw, grass, tequila, oak, agava, wheat, and cracker; with lighter notes of leathery/musty funk, white wine vinegar, and yeast/oak earthiness. Light-moderate fruity/lactic tart/sourness, fruit tang; and light yeast/oak spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of juicy/tart/tangy pineapples, fruit skin, peach, pear, lemon, orange, mango, melon, red/green apple, passion fruit, guava, berry, white grape/wine, hay, straw, grass, tequila, oak, agava, wheat, cracker, light funk/vinegar, and yeast/oak earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/funky/acidic yeast, pineapple, citrus/tropical hops, tequila barrel, and moderate pale/wheat malt flavors; with an awesome malt/tart/sourness and tangy fruit balance; with zero puckering flavors after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from tart/sourness, tangy fruit, and carbonation. Medium-high carbonation and medium body; with a very smooth, moderately bready/grainy/acidic/tangy, fairly crisp, and lightly tannic balanced mouthfeel that is fantastic. Minimal warming alcohol for 8.1%. Overall this is a fantastic dry hopped and fruited sour/wild ale! All around outstanding complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/funky/acidic yeast, pineapple, citrus/tropical hops, tequila barrel, and moderate pale/wheat malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink for the ABV; with the modestly acidic/tangy/drying finish, not overly lactic. Amazing balance of juicy hops/fruit and Brett/Lacto complexity; nice tequila barrel presence and pale/wheat malt backbone against acidity. A highly enjoyable offering, and amazing style example. Definitely one of the best I've had from them!
