Gose w/ Cranberry, Hibiscus, Orange Zest, Cinnamon, & Salt - Last year we brewed Gene Flow for a Pro-Am competition where a brewery and homebrewer team up to replicate an award winning recipe. We were paired up with Ric Brown and his excellent holiday gose, which we replicated without the cinnamon, since we brewed it in the middle of summer. It was definitely a fan favorite, so we decided to re-blend it this year for a holiday release and add the Cinnamon back in. Wow, that was a good decision. This beer will go VERY well with family gatherings and turkey dinner (or tofurkey, if that's your thing.)

Two inches of fizzy, short-lived head. Mostly clear with pink / light orange coloration. Aroma is barnyard funk with cranberry lurking beneath the funk, but it's very funk dominant and a bit one dimensional. Taste is more complex, with the salt, cranberry and hibiscus all noticeable. Feel is on the thin side, with minimal carb. Very easy to drink.

2020 release, 16 oz. can.

Bright reddish orange in the glass with ample foam fizzing away on top. Minor spotty lacing.
Aromas of cranberry, minerals well water, some lightly phenolic spices as it warms up.
Tart and quenching, spiced cranberry and tart hibiscus. Some salinity to the body, but not perceptible in the taste.
Crisp and dry, light with a somewhat rounded feel from the salt addition. Bright and zesty.
Overall this is an interesting twist, and slightly reminiscent of Thanksgiving dinner.

A - Pours a beautiful ruby red with a large fizzy pink head.

S - Aroma is cranberry, cinnamon and orange zest.

T - The taste is cranberry, orange peel, cinnamon, green apple, hibiscus and sea salt.

M - Light body with medium carbonation. Soft mouthfeel with a crap dry finish.

O - One of the best Gose’s I’ve ever had. So many different things going on in the flavor. Cinnamon adds a great spice to the finish.

Beautiful fruited golden sour here, pours a beautiful light cherry color, tart, crisp, funky. Beautifully carbonated, tastes like a cocktail, the salt is great. Nice tartness from the cranberries, balanced nicely by the cinnamon. Another refreshing, crisp, fruity, wheaty, golden sour from Speciation.

That to rudzud
Pours nice fizzy pink head, fades quickly, little retention, no lacing, hazy bright pink reddish color

Nose tons of cranberry and tons of apple cider cinnamon, cranberry tea, spice, orange, herbal, a gose not sure but otherwise nice

Taste big tart cranberry, apple cider and loads of cinnamon, apple cider, little tart cider, hibiscus notes, cranberry juice and tart berry, more cranberry tea, juicy but tart, dry finish little flemmy

Mouth is med bod, good fizzy carb, bright acidity, not too flemmy

Overall really nice, big cranberry apple cider with big cinnamon and tart flemmy acidic sour beer, enjoyable but a sipper

Received in a trade and shared with JLindros.

A -Poured into a Kate the Great tulip a nice hazy cranberry juice hue with s light wispy head that fades to leave a thin halo.

S - Big aromas of cranberries, tart, mulling spices, cinnamon, oranges, tart.

T - Taste is similar to the nose with loads of tart cranberries yet juicy and sweet. The orange is zesty and the cinnamon is warm, tastes almost like mulled cider! Great salt too.

M - Mouthfeel is lightly carbonated, crisp, the finish is not flemmy at all. Very pleasant.

O - Overall this was a very solid gose with great salinity and cranberry juice notes. Haven't had a beer with this much cranberry in years.

750 ml bottle into tulip glass, bottled in 10/2018. Pours slightly hazy deep orange/amber, light reddish/pinkish color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and fluffy pink head with good retention, that reduces to a thin spotty lace cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings on the glass, with a light amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of huge sour/tart/tangy cranberries, strawberry, pomegranate, hibiscus, fruit skin/seed, lemon, lime, orange zest, peach, pear, melon, red/green apple, red grape/wine, hay, straw, herbal, floral, grass, sea salt, wheat, cracker, and white bread; with lighter notes of cinnamon, pepper, musty/lacto funk, and yeast earthiness. Incredible aromas with fantastic complexity and balance of cranberries, hibiscus, orange zest, fruity/funky/acidic yeast; light-moderate pale/wheat malts, and cinnamon/salt notes; with big strength. Taste of huge sour/tart/tangy cranberries, strawberry, pomegranate, hibiscus, fruit skin/seed, lemon, lime, orange zest, peach, pear, melon, red/green apple, red grape/wine, hay, straw, herbal, floral, grass, sea salt, wheat, cracker, and white bread; with lighter notes of cinnamon, pepper, musty/lacto funk, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate fruity/lactic tartness; fruit/hibiscus tang; and light cinnamon/yeast spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of tart/tangy cranberries, strawberry, pomegranate, hibiscus, fruit skin/seed, lemon, lime, orange zest, peach, pear, melon, red/green apple, red grape/wine, hay, straw, herbal, floral, grass, sea salt, wheat, cracker, white bread, light cinnamon/pepper/funk, and yeast earthiness on the finish fora good bit. Amazing complexity, robustness, and balance of cranberries, hibiscus, orange zest, fruity/funky/acidic yeast; light-moderate pale/wheat malts, and cinnamon/salt flavors; with a fantastic malt/tartness and tangy fruit balance; with no puckering flavors after the finish. Moderately crisp/clean finishing. Light-moderate increasing dryness from tartness, tangy fruit, and carbonation. Medium-plus carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, moderately bready/grainy/acidic/tangy/tannic, and lightly saline/sticky balanced mouthfeel that is fantastic. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 4.2%. Overall this is an amazing fruit/spiced Gose! All around incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of cranberries, hibiscus, orange zest, fruity/funky/acidic yeast; light-moderate pale/wheat malts, and cinnamon/salt flavors; very smooth, crisp, and refreshing to drink with the modestly acidic/tangy/tannic/drying finish; not overly lactic or salty. Absolutely perfect balance of juicy/jammy cranberries, hibiscus, orange zest, and Brett/Lacto complexity; with a nice pale/wheat malt backbone against acidity. Nice complementing cinnamon spice and salt presence, without being overwhelming. A highly enjoyable offering, and amazing style example as expected. One of their best beers yet.

Really nice beer. Bright ruby red body, one finger white head. Good retention and not much lacing. Smell is bright cranberries, a touch of salt, spices, lemon, a bit of floral notes and a bit of zest. Flavour follows, essentially a cranberry gose with a bigger acidity to it, more complexity even. Mouthfeel is medium lighter bodied, good carbonation, spice and salt on the backend.
