A: opaque; very dark brown in color; less than a 1 finger light brown head that receded quickly to a thin collar; no lacing;

S: deeply roasted grain; as it warmed, bittersweet chocolate comes through as well;

T: deeply roasted grain up front; bittersweet chocolate from the middle through the finish; quite bitter at the end - somewhat harsh;

M: medium to full bodied; moderate carbonation; dry finish; hides the ABV extremely well;

O: the harsh bitterness is hard to get by;

16oz can received from @sulldaddy; first experience with Armada
Poured into a Tree House willi becher

P cool label art; pours black w/ a 1f tan head; quick recession
N med to med-bold nose of robust roasty notes and dark chocolate sweetness
T deep roast (a blend of both malt and coffee) meets dark chocolate and a touch of dried fruit/tobacco; the booze is in there, but not hot- 14% is expertly hidden; fig and dark cherry notes as it opens; finish becomes light to moderately warming
Mf med to med-full bodied; lightly chewy; med carb level, verging on med-high; pretty smooth
O kind of reminds me of Worldwide Stout, but with the abv more hidden; one nicely done RIS; thanks again for the opportunity, S!

Poured at fridge temp from a can. Pours motor oil black with a thin layer of brown head.

The nose is coffee, roasted malts, vanilla, milk chocolate, marshmallow, and the smell of an old pipe with tobacco residue in it. Really nice and smooth.

The taste is very intense and mouth watering. Bitter roasted malts, charred wood, tar, dark chocolate, loads of excellent coffee (dark roast), burnt vanilla, molasses, and maybe a hint of rubber. Not much sweetness detected at all. As it warms, I pick up layers of dark German bread, and an every slight hint of soy sauce.

Mouthfeel is medium bodied with a roasted malts aftertaste. Great beer!

From a 16 oz.can stamped 22026 12:35:13. Sampled May 27, 2o23

The color is definitely under a modest tan head. It's the style.

Aroma of dark roasted malt, cherry, vanilla, and a vague burnt character.

Medium mouthfeel.

The taste is sweet, burnt and roasty. Generally a pretty good beer.

Pours pitch black with instantly vanishing tan head. No head retention or lacing

S: Much roastyness, dark fruits & chocolate once warm

T: Very roasty, dryness; Baker's Chocolate, some coffee notes, a little booze sting up front along with woody hops. Charred grain, chicory, & dryness as this beer warms up, just a little caramel on the edges. Finishes with smokeyness, dark chocolate, & chicory

MF: Medium body, very warming, near zero carbonation

An absolute Bruiser of a beer that grabs you by the collar from the first sip, took a while to work through. I feel like this monster would age great for years upon years

Canned on: 2022 Vintage / Edition

A - Pitch black pour with a moderately dense, caramel colored lacing ring, low on the carbonation.

S - The nose is all roasty, chocolate char with a pretty well hidden ABV for 14% (it's there but not overly huge).

T - Taste opens up an entirely different character of this beer with a very strong coffee roast presence, chocolate char, a little bit of dark fruit, and some assertive alcohol with some pronounced warming on the way down. Lingering roast on the back side with a little bit of toasty caramel toffee.

M - Light syrupy body with a wet finish and a whole lot of warming in the back of the throat.

O - The alcohol, though low on the nose, ends up being pretty agressive. Armada could stand to dial the ABV back a few points as it gets in the way of the beer. The roasty presence is decent and deserves to shine more.

I have 16 oz can date stamped 2021 release. I picked up at the brewery a few weeks ago.
My can is at cellar temp and is poured into a snifter.
the beer pours a dark black coffee color with a dense creamy tan head of 1 cm. This foam sticks around as a sturdy surface layer throughout the sampling.
The aroma on this beer is rich with roasted malt, milk chocolate and some coffee grounds. There isnt really any booze and hops are absent. Nose is appealing on this beer and fits with the style and what is promised on the label.
First sip reveals a medium to thick body with very soft and gentle rolling carbonation. Flavor is some dark chocolate, some milk chocolate, a bit of brown sugar, coffee grounds and some roasted malt. The sweetness sticks around a bit on the swallow and there is no hint of the ABV nor the hops on this beer. Quite a nice imperial stout experience and maybe a little dangerously drinkable. Im glad I picked up this can at the brewery a few weeks ago. Would gladly buy this again.

Decent milk stout. Certainly not bad, but there's not much going on with this one. But still worth a try.

Poured from a can, dated 11/17/17.

Look is a pretty nice dark brown, with a thin tan head that fades to a fine ring.
Smell is great, big bold coffee! It really smells like sticking your nose into a bag of fresh roasted coffee beans. Some of the roasty aroma may be from the malts, as there's a bit of chocolate and caramelized sugar too.
Taste is similar, like fresh brewed coffee grounds, dark roasted malts with an earthy bitterness.
Feels pretty good. It's decently bitter, lending a sharp edge to a dry finish.

Overall very nice! Lots of coffee, and it's well-incorporated. Definitely worth picking some up!
