Sampling a cellar temp 16 oz can poured into my snifter.
The beer pours a dark cola color with minimal beige head of .5 cm that fades quickly to a thin edge layer and small wispy island.
The aroma is some sweet and dark chocolate mixed with a bit of roasted malt too. No hops or any booze here. Nose is actually more mild than I would have expected.
First sip reveals an average body with fine yet prickly carbonation that tingles across my palate. Pretty smooth texture on this one too.
Flavor is some dark chocolate and a good roasted note, but then a sweeter hit of vanilla comes through in the middle and then gives way to the chocolate notes again. the hops are a no show and I dont get any booze either, which is impressive for 12%.
The beer is really drinkable for its size and is pretty solid taste too. I wish the nose was more robust and complex but otherwise this is pretty good. Glad to have tried it.
