With a color that’s straight black, this beer bring about a coffee and milk palate with light baker’s chocolate, some stale grains and a nicely roasty aftertaste. The carbonation from the nitro makes the mouthfeel very smooth, as the light milk coffee aroma matches the flavor really well. Although it is oddly balanced out, it’s one of those “better than Guinness” stouts, like the Pugilst from Societe Brewing in San Diego and O’Hara’s Leann Folláin from Carlow Brewing Company in County Carlow, Ireland. Best of all, no lactose is added to the beer, so those who separate meat and dairy will not have to worry when enjoying this beer.
