A: Pours a bright, clear golden color with some visible carbonation The off-white head is initially tall and densely foamy, with a thick texture and solid retention. A fine lattice of patchy lace sticks to the sides of the glass.

S: Grainy and somewhat bready maltiness in the nose. A clean herbal-lemony hop aroma is also available, with a hint of musty German character.

T: Grainy pilsener malt up front, with some mild bread-crust flavor. Hop flavors are grainy and a bit fruity/lemony, with a clean bittering bite that is unwaveringly European. A faintly steely kiss into the finish.

M: Medium-full bodied, with medium carbonation. A robustly crisp, drying finish provides pleasant refreshment.

D: A nice, refreshing German pils. Clean and fairly flavorful. A worthy representative of a classic European style, although it falls short of world class.

Brown flip-top half litre bottle drank while in mt hotel room while visiting Stuttgart. This was the second beer I reviewed in the hotel.

Looked and had the aroma of a good quality pilsner, but it's strength and extra hop tasting flavours improved my mood and its scores no end. The alcohol content was really evident in the aftertaste compared to the first sips and in the mouth.

I really enjoyed this one.
