Labeled "West Coast IPA" From a can marked Best Before 2/25.
The only smell is slightly metallic.
The taste is reminiscent of a weak pilsner.
Sadly, not worth the alcohol, didn't finish.
Ireland's craft beer movement is young and just getting started, and most of the IPAs I've had to date are pretty weak.

440ml can from O'Briens Wine Off-Licence, Athlone (€3):
Dark golden with a large, 5cm head that's foamy white & dome shaped with good retention but could've been a little smaller. The nose is quite fresh & floral, citrus notes & lighter grassy hops coming through as well as some orange, pineapple & faint tropical mango but its not as pungent or resinous as expected. The taste carries on in a similar vein, plenty of citrus & pineapple, some mango with a lot more bitterness than the nose, it's quite sharp & dry towards the end as well but there wasn't much of a balance really; the bitterness proved a bit too much by the end.

look: two finger white head with great retention, lightly hazy golden coloured beer with gentle carbonation rolling up the glass.

smell: light bready malt, a bit of dank hop aroma, salty, like salt water, does not smell fresh, ordered straight from the brewery though so i couldn’t possibly be see how it couldn’t be fresh.

taste: tastes fine, thankfully, not to say that it tastes good, light bready malt on the opening, some citrus fruit flavour, pink grapefruit, bit of orange, orange pith, dank, moderate bitterness on the finish, lingering sweet fruit flavour.

feel: light bodied, medium carbonation, a little oily maybe, lingering bitterness on the back of the tongue, reasonably drinkable.

overall: suspicious beer, a dull beer from an otherwise interesting brewery, would like to know when it was canned, oh well.
