Great, transparent at the fringes, deepest brown color, tenacious tan head, streaky drapes of lace.
Aroma is mild and stoutish with notes of milk chocolate and mallow fluff but not over sweet or cereal milky.
Flavor is all hefty sweet stout with hints of oats and powdered milk with some tart tingles of charms on the tongue.
Again, not over sweet and well balanced, alcohol well folded into the sweetness. Solid back end bitterness.
Finish is lingering black grain and brown sugar.
Not quite magically delicious but very tasty and better than expected.

Lucky Charms is a magical cereal. Mixed with beer is even better. Throw in an Irish brewery and it's the makings of something spectacular. Chuckee Larmz is smooth, rich and not too sweet. The recognizable cereal "charm" is there from the get go. Lighter than you would expect for this style of beer. Would buy again.

A: The beer is jet black in color. It poured with a quarter finger high off white head that left a thin collar around the edge of the glass and some wisps of lacing on the surface.
S: Moderate aromas of marshmallows are present in the nose along with notes of milk chocolate.
T: The taste follows the smell, although the flavors of marshmallows are stronger and the are underlying hints of Lucky Charms and sweetness.
M: While it is medium-bodied, the beer has an airy and fluffy mouthfeel.
O: This makes for a nice dessert beer with all of the marshmallows in the smell and taste. It drinks a lot easier compared to what I would have expected for a beer of this strength its airy mouthfeel and how it hides any traces of alcohol very well from the taste.

Decanted from a 14.9 oz (441 ml) can into a Captain Lawrence muffin top; no identifiable production date, but code L 2093/94.
A: Pours an essentially black with a two finger, light brown head that clears to more than a rim and mostly parameniscal lacing.
S: Aromas of milk chocolate, mocha, vanilla, and maple predominate. More and more tart as it warms.
T: Sweet, but not that obviously boozy. Flavors follow the nose with a touch of sarsaparilla or cola. Bitterness solidly present but not overpowering.
F: Full bodied with moderate carbonation.
O: Not a bad chocolate pastry stout; obviously a tiny niche style. Bills itself as an "Imperial Marshmallow Lucky Charm Milk Stout." Lucky Charms is, of course, the American made breakfast cereal with the Leprechaun on the box, who, in TV and radio advertising tries to hide them from some kids, and, after losing them, recites the tag line, "they're magically delicious." Clearly no trace of the cereal or the marshmallows in the flavor profile, which is a blessing, because I've found marshmallows to impart a rather stale flavor to beer. Rather strange that a Republic of Ireland brewery would try to appeal to on this basis, given that, again, it has no bearing on the flavor and the risk of a copyright suit from a large US company is real. Basically, an alcoholic chocolate soda.

I was half-expecting some sort of sweet kid cereal mess, but this is pretty good. It pours with a huge carbonated head, that burns down to a penumbra around the glass, with a ton of sticky lacing. Nose is a bit non-descript, though there is a tiny hint of vanilla. Sips are surprisingly bakers cocoa up front, followed by vanilla, and a “Chucky Larms” finish. Mouthfeel is medium, though the cocoa powder feels gives it a fullness and ending dryness. Alcohol hides at first, but does creep in by the mid to end of the 16 oz can. Definitely more complex as it warmed, so I suggest not worrying about trying it too cold.

Okay, I love the simple, yet unique design of these new cans. Even the name made me look twice, couldn’t leave it there.

Top: forms a 2”, long lasting tan head, lots of lacing with a thick ring inside the glass. Sweeeeeet.

Colour: cola-like when pouring, deep dark brown when settles in the glass. Nearly jet black, just nearly. Looks fine to me.

Smell: coffee, marshmallows, vanilla. Delicious.

Taste: very creamy and smooth. A hint of boozy notes, but they go away soon. Taste follows the nose, a bit of cotton candy and chocolate pops up too. Med+/Full body, medium carbonation. Sweet-ish first then a semi-dry finish. Strong as expected.

Summary: it’s a great brew, I loved it. Similar to Wicklow Wolf’s Apex S’mores, slightly less intense on the nose, but packs a bigger punch, thanks to the 9.1% ABV. I’m buying this as long as it’s available. A weekend treat for daddy.

Appearance - Dark brown but still a little transparent. Pours like a normal beer and not like jet fuel.

Aroma - Very toasty. Lots of marshmallow right off the bat. Then you've also got your typical yummy imperial stout notes - chocolate, vanilla, coffee... There are some Belgian yeast vibes going on there, too.

Taste - Lucky charms with some coffee and chocolate. Mmmmm. Very milky. Which is befitting for a beer inspired by cereal. Belgian character is still there, along with some hints of dark fruit as well.

Mouthfeel - Light to medium bodied. Incredibly crisp and refreshing for an imperial stout.

Overall - A very good, incredibly drinkable stout. Marshmallow in beer is hit or miss for me - this one gets it right.

Tap pour. Very dark brown colour with a soft creamy beige head. Smells like sticky chocolate syrup and a little toasty, maybe a little booziness in there as well. Marshmallow notes are there, but it's faint compared to the sweet dark fruit notes. Tastes creamy and heavier bodied throughout, and leaves a bit of a textured mouth feel and light grainy and bitter toasted notes on the finish. Overall, the flavours are very smooth and lighter than expected. This definitely doesn't taste like a 9.1% beer, more like a 4.7%. Dark bitter chocolate, lightly toasted marshmallow, and Dutch cocoa body, with a couple hints of black cherry/dark fruits in there. It's smooth and hard to peg down. Thought this one would be a fun gimmick but it's delicious. Dry palate close, no lingering after tastes.
