incredibly light, highly drinkable, but also very distinctive pale ale here, i really liked this. lightly hazy looking straw yellow beer, high headed from the tap, pure white, almost nitro looking, thick and creamy, but the beer overall looks delicate, fizzy, and bright. it smells awesome, a little something from the yeast but this is neither belgian or english or anything to me, just slightly bready before the hops fire up, lemon and tangerine there, fresh thyme and lemongrass too, uniquely herbal, noble and southern hemisphere hop aspects, but somehow quintessentially northwestern too, majorly appealing but also almost slightly challenging, really cool. the flavor has cool balance, almost a rawness to the grain, seems like wheat and pils malts, but also deeply earthy, light bodied, super dry, softly spicy too. the hops taste like they smell, the yeast is unifying, and overall this is delicious. maybe a tad soapy as it warms, but the hops drip with meyer lemon, lemon verbena, and lime candy notes to me. its the right amount of refined too, like its unfiltered and full of character, but also bone dry and gorgeously carbonated. i liked this a lot, something really different in a sometimes boring and derivative style. bravo! this might be my favorite quirk beer i had in walla walla this week...
