This beer pours a nice somewhat murky amber color. I wasn't doing an aggressive pour, but there's a ton of carbonation in this beer. It took a long time to fully pour this beer into the glass. The head was a bit off white, it was fluffy looking, and decent retention with nice lacing on the glass.
The nose has a nice malty caramel, toffee biscuit aroma.
Flavor - There's a nice malty, bread, biscuit caramel/toffee flavor. There is, however, a very heavy hop flavor as well, that's quite bitter. It just doesn't seem to fit in.
The body is decent for the style, however the bitter feeling lasts, and isn't pleasing to me.
I'm a fan of IPAs, and do like bitterness in that style. I'm not a fan of it in fest-biers. This just doesn't work in my book. Maybe I'm wrong?
