16.9oz bottle poured into a tulip
A- pours jet black in color with a one-finger khaki head that disappears to leave just a ring around the glass
S- plenty of bourbon barrel up front, gives aromas of wet oak, barrel juice, coconut and vanilla. Charred malt, chocolate, anise, toffee, burnt coffee, molasses and burnt brown sugar round it out
T- dark charred malt and milky chocolate notes up front, followed by black licorice, molasses and caramel. The finish brings out undertones of oak, bourbon and vanilla. Lingers of charred malt and black licorice
M- heavy body with moderate-low carbonation leads to a creamy mouthfeel that continues into a velvety, slightly warming finish
O- a velvety mouthfeel provides a nice backdrop to this bold stout, barrel came through more on aroma than taste but overall very enjoyable
