Red-hued dark brown with a finger of light khaki foam head that settles into a thin head that leaves modest lacing.
Carbon dioxide in the nose. Maybe a little leather.
Chocolate malt, brown sugar and old nougat chews in the taste. Some roasted malts, too. Switches back and forth between sweet and roasty. Also very creamy tasting. Might peg it for a milk stout if tasted blind.
Full bodied with tight, heavy carbonation.
A decent brew. Pretty colored and inoffensive tasting. A bit too heavily carbonated for my taste.

2/9/2024, on tap at the brewery
A great rendition of this classic. Stoney, roasty, mineral. Easy to drink, cocoa and roasted malt come through. Enjoyed with spicy sweet pizza, a perfect combination.

On draft in a pint glass
Black, opaque, off white colored head. Pleasant chocolately aroma, a touch roasty. Similar taste, good balance. Thin to Medium bodied, could be thicker.

Pounder can into a snifter appears dark cola brown to black with a rich dark mocha head 2 fingers tall that fades slowly.
Aroma is carbonic in nature smelling tin-like and reminiscent of loose pocket change. Peculiar that I literally smell nothing else.
Taste-wise this is pretty mild with again carbonic nature leading the way with some light roastiness, nutty dark grain character, cola and earth/coffee. There is a bit of green yeastiness to the finish.
This is light in body with ample carbonation. For a session style porter of sorts its decent and easy drinking just misses the mark a little for me.
