Poured from a can into a pint glass. Pours deep orange yellow with a small white head. Smells of citrus hops with subtle grain notes. Tastes of nice sweet grain with great citrus hop notes. Beer is light bodied and still easy drinking, good carbonation. Overall, a very good beer.

Every month or so I visit Vista's in North Conway NH on 16 and buy one of every DIPA Clem has in inventory - Given that most brews are limited production, it has been difficult to keep track of favorites and ones to avoid - This site is going to be a very useful tool for me - Over time..... the favorites seem to rise to the surface, as do the non-favorites - I have been doing this for years and at this point in my journey, The Gov'nah has risen to the top of the list - Hoppy with plenty of bite, a nice balance - One of my personal rules is now is an 8% minimum and non citrus, hazy is fine but not a requirement - To each his own

Can stamped "09/25/19" on the bottom.
Poured into a tulip, the appearance was a dark bronzed copper/amber color with a sly transparency about it. A good two finger white foamy head sat on top and slid off stealthily to leave a rim of white messy lace near the top softly stringing itself out.
The aroma had some semi-sweet pine notes intermingling with soft floral and brisk citrusy semi-bitter hop tones. Clean caramel malt backbone provides a steady balance.
The flavor leaned into some bitterness initially but gradually opened up into more of a blend with some warmth. Mild aftertaste of marmalade, bittersweet pine and citrus rind.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied with a fair sipping quality about it. Good carbonation about it. Some dryness along with some chalkiness rubs my tongue. Long in the finish with some marmalade sweetness and an "old school" bitterness but nice and clean.
Overall, I think the kids these days won't like this but that's okay cause if I spent more time in New Hampshire, I'd be drinking this more often.

16 ounce can in to an IPA glass.
Pours a an unfiltered cloudy orange frost with a 3F white cap. The head does a quick dip to a soapy froth that sticks to the inside of the glass.
8.6% abv and six malts lead to a sweet alcohol aroma with a bit of tropical fruit seeping through.
Alcohol and sugar mute the flavors.
Full body, sweet and syrupy. sticky sweet. Hop bitterness.
Too much sugar and alcohol, not enough flavor.

Pint can: 8/23/18 "milk is for babies" opened 9/1/18
A mildly hazy, burnt golden color. A short but plump, off-white and dense sea foamy covering just holds right on.
The nose has some sweet, tropical fruity notes from the hops and some complex malty tones, ranging from caramel to golden wheat. A rather subtle, and sweet aroma overall.
Yes, this is a DIPA, but honestly it's not so much "New England style" as it is west coasty. The hops come across as lightly tropical-style, fruity, big citrus and pine but showcasing a mild bitterness and more juicy effect from the hops.
The highlight for me is the malt effect, which is very complex and interesting. The can says "mix of malts" and that becomes very obvious with the first sip. I really like the malt to be pale gold, and light in the DIPA style, which is a characteristic of the NE styles, so this one falls somewhere in the middle. Heady grains, both golden and Amber style, Amber with the caramel sweetness but wheat and hay from the lighter side of the malt. like I said, the malt flavor and body feel is tasty and complex.
The mouthfeel starts out with a crisp bite, snappy, then the malty body hits you with a full blown, malty smooth ride in the finish.
The aftertaste of the hops and malt combo is very grainy, earthy and almost Woody. Very nice ending anyway.

From the 16 oz can with a canning date of 02/22/18. Sampled on March 13, 2018 during a snowstorm.
It pours a slightly cloudy looking medium amber-brass color with a quick lasting off-white head.
A lot of sensations on the nose including sweet caramel malts, sweet barley malts, herbs, pine and fruit.
The body is medium to near full. Quite impressive that.
The taste has a notable sweet malt presences that gets a little boost from the pine, herb, and melon-like fruit characteristics. This might be too sweet for Hopheads but it tends to be more of a traditional IPA
