Im sampling a cold 16 oz can poured into a sort of minisnifter. Picked up the beer on a whim at a shop yesterday. date Stamp is 4/24/2021. So I expect the coffee may have faded some and not any booze presence, but we shall see.
The beer pours a black coffee color with no light passing through the glass. A dense creamy tan head foams up about 1.5 cm and fades to a sturdy edge layer soon after the pour. Also leaves some clingy lattice when I take a sip.
WOW! Aroma is robust coffee! didnt fade at all from what I can tell. Not a light and sweet coffee scent, basically black roast grounds and maybe some dark cacao chocolate there too. No hint of booze, no sweetness, and no hops. Coffee roast and dark chocolate, with coffee dominant by far.
First sip reveals a medium body with smooth texture and fine tingly carbonation. The carb isnt really aggressive, but definitely tingles across my palate with each sip.
Flavor is similar to nose advertises, but with just a little bit more sweet chocolate. The roasted notes and coffee grounds are present, a bit of sweeter milk chocolate pokes through and then coffee grounds return and linger on the finish. No hint of any hop profile and the booze is pretty well hidden too.
This is a nice imperial coffee stout that delivers on the coffee for sure. Hidden booze makes for a fun time too.
Glad I grabbed this solo can off the shelf to sample.

This was listed as Wayfarer coffee stout, I think its the same beer.
On tap at the source.
Dark brown bordering on black with a thin tan head.
Huge coffee aroma and flavor. Light stout underneath. Nice stout flavored coffee.

I love coffee stouts and this is one of my favorites. A nice dark black pour with a rich coffee aroma. Overall a great stout. Ages well too. I put one aside for over a year and it was even better.

Pours a 2-finger light brown head that quickly fades leaving traces of lace. Black color, no highlights. Good carbonation and medium bodied. Coffee nose and flavor is roasted coffee, some malty sweetness as it warms. $14.99 for a 4-pak of 16oz cans from Concord Coop Concord, NH

Coffee stouts have been too numerous and I'm frankly sick of them. Until this one, that is! Finally a stout with only enough coffee to superbly complement the beer rather than dominate it. Pours dark with a thin mocha cap. Aroma is definitely coffee-centric, but leaves room for the roasted malt to show through. Flavor follows in an even better, more symbiotic manner and just a touch of sweetness to round out this delicious brew. Finish is roasty and not overly dry. Probably the finest coffee stout I've had.

From 16oz can purchased in the brewery. Pours dark black with the nice thick brownish head. Rich coffee aroma really kicks in this one. Medium body with a bit of sweetness. Great stout.

Many thanks to SawDog505 for this can!
A - Pitch black pour with very thin toffee colored lacing, very viscous on the sides of the glass.
S - Coffee and sweet roasted chocolate.
T - Roasted malt and some cocoa up front and a long lingering moderately bitter chocolate finish.
M - Medium body that leans towards the heavier side.
O - No alcohol detection at all in this big stout. Recommended!

Poured into a 16 oz Great Divide tulip glass not sure when it was canned. Pours a very dark brown with a solid 1 and a half finger light brown head, that leaves some thin wisps of lace as it quickly settles into a very thin layer of bubble.
Smell is dry coffee grounds, cocoa nibs, vanilla bean, and toffee.
Taste follows coffee, milk chocolate, vanilla, and Heath bar.
Mounted is a solid medium, gentle carbonation, not very considering the style, and excellent drinkability.
Overall this is very tasty, maybe a tad one dimensional, but that isn't a terrible thing. Nice coffee Stout.

Cannned on 10/17/17 and enjoyed 10/21/17.
Pours dark brown with a red hue hugging the glass. Slight off white cap that subsides with spots of lacing on the edges. Coffee grounds dominate the nose but there is a sweetness too, like some marshmallows. Cold brew coffee, ash, and the sweetness envelope the palate. Smooth full feel, medium body and an enjoyable offering. I love imperial stouts so no surprise I loved this one; but, I find this one is better than expected. Fantastic, enjoy!
