From the Boozebud Advent Calendar 2022, day 19. Drunk in June 2023.
L: Rusty-copper-brown. Thin cap of off-white head. Lots of slow-moving bubbles in the glass. Lacing left in the glass.
S: Loads of rich hazelnut, dark caramel, freshly baked brown bread.
T: Hazelnuts forever; bitter, burnt, brown bread; dark toffee; charred and caramelised sugar. The sweet hazelnut note plays well with the burnt, bitter base malt.
M: Quite prickly in the mouth, and sharp on the way down, but matching the roasty, toasty burnt bread taste profile well.
O: This is quite tasty, but its burnt, butter taste profile is not for the beer-drinking neophyte. A nice beer, well done!
