Hop, sip and a bump - fist bump that is. Because that's what hop-lovers will do after drinking this beer. Exploring the new world of emerging hop regions in Australia, New Zealand and France, this West Coast style IPA has a crispy, dry, bitter taste and big pineapple and strawberry aromas.

Hops: Idaho Gem, Azacca, Simcoe, Vic Secret

The limited release can is giving off those celebratory vibes and I am getting in on it. A pale cloudy orange colour to the brew with a loose forming white head that fluttered out into a thin film. Lots of fruit aroma with pineapples and melon and a sweet but tart likeness to strawberry.

Very tasty, but nothing remarkable. There is a lot of flavour, all culminating in a standard taste which I have come to expect from IPA’s of late. Along with the fruit juiciness is a bit of pine resin. Nothing to really stand out but still very approachable. Decent bitterness with a bubbly mouthfeel. Bad Shepherd hides the ABV here very nicely. Crisp and dry in at the end.

Don’t get me wrong, this is a very solid IPA and I would happily have another. My thoughts are that in a world where every brewery is making an IPA, something should stand out to really hold the drinker.
