It's Hotter Than Helles

Having this beer on-tap at the brewery, this beer draws a clear, medium golden color with a white head that’s about 1/3,of an inch thick when first drawn and served. Settles quickly to only a thin white ring lining the inside of the glass with just about zero lacing. Aromas of some bready, smoked malts with slight caramel sweetness along with additional ancho and habanero peppery spice notes. The taste is pretty much the same, with some bready malts with some smokiness and notes of caramel sweetness that gives way pretty quickly to ancho chilies that add a bit more smokiness and some habanero hot spicyness. I am a big fan of hot peppers and hot sauces and food and beverage products in general that implement chili peppers into them, and the way they incorporated into this beer very nicely for my taste. Not really any discernible hop flavor here, and after awhile the hot pepper flavors really do dominate the overall flavor profile, which is just fine by me. Has a slightly crisp, mainly smooth and even slightly frothy, medium bodied mouthfeel with light to moderate carbonation. Has a clean finish. I really enjoy this beer.
