Having this beer on-tap at the brewery. Served in a tulip glass, this beer draws a very dark brown, almost black color with a nice tan head that’s about 1/3 inch thick when first drawn and served. Settles to a thick ring lining the inside of the glass along with some cluster swirls of surface foam. Decent lacing. Aromas of roasted malts with some caramel sweetness and some dark chocolate bitter sweetness along with hints of black coffee. A very similar flavor profile here, with roasted malts and some caramel sweetness and followed by dark chocolate bitter sweetness along with hints of black coffee. The salted caramel chocolate mean though nicely as the beer sits and warms a bit. Has a bit of an earthy hop bitterness to round out the flavor profile. Has a slightly oily, yet crisp, slightly grainy and prickly, medium to full bodied mouthfeel with moderate carbonation. As a mostly clean, slightly grainy finish and somewhat dry aftertaste. A good beer here.
