Had Godfather Death at Oddstory's The Greenhouse Barrel + Taproom, Chattanooga, on draft into almost tulip.
Pours deep mahogany, with 1/2-finger light-tan head, with decent retention, leaving some sketchy lace down the glass. Malty caramel aroma and a little spice off pour, joined by bright citrus and leather as warms. On tasting, begins crisp with lots of sweet, rich caramel malt, but a rather grainy texture, then some biting citrus, leading into a slightly toasted, bready, caramel malt, slightly spicy, vanishingly fruity and only a bit warming alcohol finish.
Nicely balanced, interestingly fruity, and deceptively alcoholic.

Poured into a snifter. Dark clear ruby brown color with a thick tan head. Good retention for a BA beer.
Aroma: prominent whiskey, vanilla, oak, and caramel, like Coca-Cola.
Taste: whiskey and vanilla followed by caramel, some toffee, and faint Belgian esters.
Feel: pretty light for a quad - slightly above medium with a clean and somewhat dry finish.
Overall: nice beer. Easy drinking and flavorful.

look: Mostly clear copper. Full tannish head on the pour that mostly sticks around. Messy lacing that lingers.
smell: Subtle whiskey. Subtle dark fruit and vanilla.
taste: Much like the nose. Not terribly rich but what an easy drinker. Alcohol nowhere to be found.
