Look:
Pours a rich chocolate brown color with a dense, one finger head of foam that leaves somewhat below average amounts of lacing on the glass. Opaque.
Aroma:
Light on the nose. Fudge, creme brulee, toasted pecan and bitter coffee.
Taste:
Flavor is chocolaty and rich, with a dry backdrop of spicy cinnamon. I'm getting rich chocolate fudge, a touch of pancake batter, pastry dough, light roast coffee and chili peppers.
Feel:
Rich and hearty. Subtle backend heat and spiciness. Low carbonation.
Overall:
A great hot chocolate / mexican style stout. At no time does the spice detract from the rich, chocolate malt flavor. Very enjoyable, easy drinking and flavorful; if you like xocoveza from stone you will also enjoy this. Never had a bad beer from oddstory, this is no exception.
