If you’re new to this style, that’s ok! Dortmunder Export is a traditional lager based out of Dortmund, Germany. It presents a soft texture accompanied by a slight malty sweetness that sets it apart from our beloved German Pilsner. Originally brewed to quench the thirst of industrial workers, we invite you to join us at the end of a long day for a full glass. Prost!

Look:
Pours a golden straw yellow color with a dense one and a half finger head of satin white foam. Laces the glass very well. Great head retention, lasting roughly four minutes.
Aroma:
Fir needles, honeydew melon, sweet peppermint caramel and a touch of pineapple jam.
Taste:
Flavor is savory and really decadent, oddstory nailed the style here. Upfront briefly dry, with botanical notes of juniper, lemon peel and fir needles. Hints of peach preserves. Goes malty with rich notes of tea biscuits, apple strudel, sugar cookies and a touch of butterscotch candy on the finish. An absolute pleasure to drink
Feel:
Crisp; but sweet (not cloyingly so). Alcohol profile is slightly noticeable, but not in a detrimental way.
Overall:
I wish more breweries would do Dortmunders/Export Lagers. I would love to see a resurgence in this style; these types of beers are an excellent middleground between flavor and thirst slacking potential.

Had Hollow Shrine at ODDtoberfest (Oktoberfest) 2023, (the new) Oddstory taproom, Chattanooga, on draft into Maßkrug.
Pours straw-gold with clarity and 1-finger near-white head, with good retention, leaving splotchy lace down the glass. Mild tart stone fruit and big pilsner malt aromas off pour, joined by bitter herbals and florals as warms. On tasting, begins sweet, mild malt, then moderate herbal hop bite, which carry into a nicely balanced, very crisp finish.
A strong dose of Noble hops for aromatic interest delivers a nice, clean balance of mild malt and nettles, in this raw, export-strength lager.
