Had Treeline poured from pint can, from 4-pk. labeled (apparently) canned on "SEP 24 2024," into nonic pint.
Pours classically hazy (rather than modern murky) lemon gold, with 1-finger-plus, creamy, near-white head, with excellent retention, leaving thick rings of lace connected by etched Belgian lace down the glass. Aromas of sweet citrus fruit, pear and a little hop spice off pour, then lime and fresh, bitter herbal aromas, and floral aroma as warms. On tasting, begins mildly tart peach, and biting citrus, over an herbal bitterness, then sweet stone fruit, which carries into a somewhat piney and crisp, clean, fresh garden finish.
This IPA does not try too hard to make a big impression, but achieves balance without big bitterness, and avoids the overly-cloying fruit smoothy trap, by a clever selection of hops and their judicious application.
