Sep. 2013: 500 ml can, from SPAR Hana. ABV is 4.6%. Clear deep golden colour, moderate white head. Pleasant aroma and flavour of fruity American hops, notes of oranges. A nice grapefruity and piney bitterness in the finish. This beer should be classified as an APA rather than an IPA, but who cares, as long as it tastes good? Remarkably decent beer coming from a Norwegian macro brewery, well balanced. Will definitely buy again.

Gold color and clear. Modest head that leaves little on the glass.
Mild aroma but well blended.
Smooth lighter ale malt flavors start this tasting. When the hop comes in, it completely dominates with a singular black pepper flavor. It leaves a long bitter aftertaste. A bit light on the body with a slightly elevated carbonation level.

This is one of the best IPA's yiu can get here in Norway without going to Vinmonopolet. A very good IPA from Hansa here. Nice design on the can. Very nice tasting beer indeed for the sort. Ther are better ones, but this is still very good.

A - golden color and really clear, looks awesome. Nice head with some medium sized bubbles forms and dissipates after a few minutes.
S - Smell is of caramel malts and american hops. They intertwine nicely, the citrus smells a bit further in the background than the caramel.
T - The taste profile is straight forward and basically like the aroma. The beer is nicely balanced, with a medium and clean bitterness.
M - medium carbonation, medium-light body. bitterness is clean and pleasant.
O - If I were to judge this as an IPA I would score it lower, but I guess you can't blame breweries from calling things IPA's so they can sell more of it. IMO this is an APA, and a good example of the style. No fuss - just clean and well balanced. I've had this beer several times from cans and I feel like it always tastes the same - which is hard to achieve when your beer is being taken care of by norwegian stores. For the cost I think it's one of the best session beers available in the norwegian market as of today.
