Handsome coppery brown brew with plenty of foam in the St. Bernardus globe. Body is on the malty side though it's fairly light in the mouth. Modest carbonation. Light on aroma but there's a whiff of raisins and cedar.
Roast malt flavors with a woody edge. Wheaty taste with just a scratch of bitterness in the aftertaste. The Belgian yeast dries this out toward the finish. Pleasant and drinkable but this is not a Dubbel I would seek out. From the 32 oz crowler filled yesterday at the brewery in San Clemente.
