Quite a distinct rye flavor in a Pale Ale. Handsome clear dark orange amber in color, with plenty of foam in the Omegang chalice. Aroma of bread and green tea with hints of yeast. Light body, crisp, and tangy on the tongue. Dark grain and scorched biscuit flavors with just a hint of sweet malt.
From the taste I would call it a Belgian Rye! Wherever the yeasty, Cream of Wheat taste comes from, it's quite interesting. Then the quite bitter aftertaste for the classic rye finish. It's all quite intense for a beer of modest size. From the 32 oz growler filled at the brewery tasting room.
