Sample at the NH Brewfest in Portsmouth 10/14/23.
Pours a dark brown bordering on black with a decent sized tan head that persists. Rich bready caramel chocolate and roast with earthy spicy hops to counter.

Poured into a glass mug.
The appearance was a very nice looking dark brown close to black color topped by a sturdy finger's worth of semi-rocky off white foamy head. Dissipated finely to leave some speckled lace.
The aroma started with a pure sweet leathery brisk oatmeal to dark chocolate and cocoa powdery quality. Subtle dark chocolate along with some milk chocolate amplifies its complexity.
The flavor moderates between a light bitterness and semi-sweet smooth and dry dark chocolate/cocoa powdery quality. Mild bitter cocoa powder to ashy sweet aftertaste.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied with a fair sipping quality about it. Nice carbonation with a touch of stickiness. Mild finish of ash and roast with some dark toast and oatmeal.
Overall, it seems to be an odd blend of an Irish dry stout, an American stout and an Oatmeal stout and I'd say it's done well enough to warrant more pours.
