Quite dark for the style--amber to brown. Cloudy. Modest head which settles to a thin coat on the surface. Minimal lacing in the form of spots and short streaks.
Cream ales typical have little smell, and this fits that profile except for a subtle hint of smashed blueberries and little else.
The initial taste was the best. I could pick up some blueberry with the "cream" of the ale. Subsequent tastes, though, become obscure and a bit bland. The body is neutral but the carbonation is low, perhaps too much so giving this beer a flat mouthfeel.
