can into glass
Cloudy and milky, light golden yellow, with a tiny light orange tint, for the appearance. Restrained, fermented lemon and a touch of toasted wheat with an herbal tinge, for the aroma. Light amount of fermented lemon peel, a touch of oyster and minerals, for the taste. Finish is thin, mineral laced lemon.

16 oz can, dated 1/28/25
pours a cloudy light yellow color - not great, unfortunately looks like dishwater with a head that quickly fades. aroma is very oniony, not like a typical NE style IPA. taste starts a little sweet but again has a vegetal hop flavor. mouthfeel is fine.

From a can dated 08/08/23. Sampled October 14, 2023.
Cloudy light yellow appearance under a big white head.
The aroma expresses a notable tropical fruit, citrus, and grapefruit hops sensation with a lower profile white bread.
The mouthfeel is almost medium.
The taste is mildly sweet but this is all about the hops. While not exactly the same, it is a good approximation of a newer IPA.

Pint can poured into a nonic mason jar type thing.
Appearance: Pours a nice, hazy yellow/gold with a fluffy white head that recedes swiftly.
Aroma: Little bit of citrus, little bit of a tropical note. Somewhat light in the nose but appealing.
Taste: Grapefruit, maybe a tiny bit of mango, hops, maybe a tiny bit of resin. It’s a little bit light in flavor, too, but enjoyable and refreshing.
Mouthfeel: Light. Not a big IPA, which should be kind of obvious.
Overall: The presentation is right there (even the can is cool), but it’s not an overwhelmingly flavorful beer. Doesn’t really have to be, either, though. Definitely an enjoyable change of pace.

Well, not an athletic IPA. Smell and color are great. Nice bitterness but no aftertaste. One of the mediocre ones. The can is nice, the beer is thin and boring

OK the last time I tried nonalcoholic brew was at least a decade ago (if not two) and I never tried one again which I think speaks for itself. So I'm expecting to be underwhelmed.
But times change and technology improves. Who knows maybe this will be potable.
Anyway here it is. Pint can marked 06/03/22 OW MY ROMBOID.
Pours into my tulip glass a well-hazed straw shade with a small frothy bright white head. Head drops to a thin ring of bubbles posthaste leaving no appreciable lace. The appearance is good but there is something off about the head. It's more like something you'd see on a soda. More an effect of carbonation and it drops off in a flash.
Scent is pineapple, orange, citrus. It's actually pretty convincing.
Taste is... well... interesting. There is some citrus and tropical fruit. Hint of grapefruit. There's a dry crackery "malt" of sorts. There is a bitterness. Which is nice. But the flavor is "thin" somehow. I don't know how else to describe it.
Mouth is sharply carbonated to start and becomes thin and a bit watery.
Honestly for a nonalcoholic brew this is impressive. With the exception of the head the appearance is quite good. The scent is convincing. The taste is not bad. But the volume, the esters, the depth and complexity of flavors just aren't there and I'm not sure they can ever be without the alcohol. I guess I always expect too much from these and will never be satisfied without the alcohol. I really struggled with this review and I feel like my expectations are too high.
So I'd say great job Woodland Farms Brewery and you have my respect and admiration for attempting the impossible.

Pours hazy, gold in color with one quarter inch head. Taste is big dank hops and light citrus. Light bodied, dank, sweet, with moderate carbonation. One of the best non alcoholic ipas. Very west coast. Delicious.
