unbelievable beer, hands down my favorite from lazarus, its really one of a kind and perhaps the best use of tea in an ale that i have known. this is an english mild with earl grey tea right in it, highly floral and bright, possibly some lavender in here too, such a fantastic mix of smells and flavors, i adored this, and to top it all off, its served on nitro! the base mild is clearly excellent, with a nice maris otter malt complexion obvious right up front to me, with the english ale yeast in there with it, old school and classically fashioned, it would not be real different without the added tea, but thats what makes it. the tea is incredibly vibrant in here, really distinctively herbaceous and floral, a jasmine sort of element to it, earthy, dry, bitter a little bit, but not separate at all from the grain, in the sense that this doesnt float apart from the base beer like it sometimes does in paler brews, it somehow is interwoven with the malt in this really cool way, insanely english obviously with the yeast too. the tea lingers a little longer than the rest of the beer, and this is dry overall for being so grain driven. the nitro makes it smooth and creamy at first but a little still later on. so mellow and smooth, some citrus comes on late too, gorgeous with the tea. this is next level beer, a brilliant marriage of a few things i never thought i would see come together. great job with this one!
