i had quite the opposite experience as the other reviewer on this one, for me a pleasant and crisp blonde brew with enough german yeast character to fit the kolsch billing and with what seems to me to be a patient cold conditioning on it, bright and dry, summery for sure, tasty to my palate, perhaps there have been multiple batches? not sure what else would explain the difference in such a short period of time. this is pale and clear, sudsy headed and lacy as the pint drinks down. i get the bready ale yeast up front in the nose, some pils type malt there as well, and a drying mineral profile, along with a delicate springy floral character. the flavor is about the same, just a quite and light bittering hop at the end and its gone, i get none of the diacetyl described in the other review at all. clean even as they go, well carbonated, complete and fairly authentic. not the most compelling be we had in here to be sure, but its pretty solid in a pint after pint context, not a flawed beer to me at all...

Diacetyl brings buttery ruin to what might otherwise be a pleasant fruity and crisp Kolsch. Shame.
