Frederiksberg 13/10 2022. 40 cl on tap at Tap 21, H. C Ørstedsvej, Frb. C.
Pours opaque hazy golden yellow with a small white head. Stable. Settles as thin, flimsy layer of foam just covering the surface of the beer. Substantial lacing.
Aroma is medium intense with a light sweet slightly fermented odor of exotic fruits mingling with citrus fruits and a hard edge of alcohol. Mango, passion fruit and decay.
Medium strong carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, soft, lively and tingling texture.
Flavor is fairly intense with a medium strong sweetness followed by a stronger bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter with a boozy undertone. Lingering. Finish is rather dry with a metallic streak.
Quite the unforgiving Man-eater.

Pours a hazy orange with fine, soapy head and some floaties.
Smell is fruity and citrusy with notes of passionfruit and a hint of sweetness.
Taste starts with a sweet maltiness and a hint of dankness, and moves into more fruitness, with notes of peaches and melon. Moderate bitterness, and some booze and grass on the finish.
Mouthfeel is medium, well carbonated.
Overall, a good DIPA, but I was expecting more from it.

Pours a cloudy amber color with a foamy, bigger head.
Smells quite fruit forward with its main emphasis being on fresh cut lime, together with riper oranges, mango and skunky grass. This gets topped off by a note of young blueberries and glazed caramel.
Has a thin mouthfeel with not enough carbonation to balance the overbearing sweetness in this, making this appear more focussed on the malts than on anything else.
Tastes of huge amounts of toffee, caramel malts and a whiff of lemon rind, unsuccessfully establishing a promising bitterness. Offers the blueberries from the nose, an insane amount of rock sugar and an alcoholic tingle. Finishes a little dryer with a good amount of lime and a whiff of papaya, coated up by a distracting sweetness.
Fairly unbalanced and hard to drink. This isn‘t overboarding on the nose (so much for the advertized double dryhopping) and entirely underwhelming, as far as its sugar defined flavors go. This is supposed to be a neipa (?), neither has it a smooth mouthfeel nor a juicy fruitiness to offer.

Can. From Decervecitas. At Barcelo Punta Umbria Mar. In water cup. Soft pine resin perfectly assembled with stone fruit notes. Really smooth, with the high abv surprisingly well hidden. I found ny self wanting to drink it slow to enjoy each sip and to delay its ending

Pours a hazy, orange coloration with a large, foamy head. Smells of light biscuity malt and tropical/citrus hops, with notes of passion fruit, papaya and grapefruit, as well as hints of dankness. Taste is an excellent balance of light biscuity malt and fruity, juicy, slightly dank and grassy hops, with tropical and citrus notes of passion fruit, mango, papaya, grapefruit and orange, as well as hints of grassy weed. Finishes with a medium bitterness and some passion fruit and graoefruit lingering in the aftertaste.
While I found the reboot of Hounds of Hell a little disappointing, this one, just like Butcher's Lamb, is a real kick right in the nostalgia, reminding me of why I fell in love with FrauGruber in the first place back in the day. That love may have cooled off a little by now, but this one is certainly proof that they can still brew great NEIPAs, just like Hounds of Hell is proof that they can't really do it that consistently anymore. I love the balance of sweet tropical and zesty citrus notes here, with the tropical notes clearly dominating, especially that bright and vibrant passion fruit presence from Galaxy, while being backed up by dank and bitter accents.
