Pours a hazy, bright orange coloration with a medium, fluffy head. Smells of light biscuity malt and faint citrus/tropical hops, with notes of lime peel and passion fruit. Taste is a good balance of light biscuity malt and fruity, juicy, slightly dank and grassy hops, with citrus, tropical and lighter berry notes of orange, lime, passion fruit, papaya and white grape, as well a the merest hint of grassy weed. Finishes with a light bitterness and some lime peel and passion fruit lingering in the aftertaste. Soft mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation.
While the aroma left me slightly disappointed initially, the taste is a bit better, with some quite varied, although still feeling kinda washed out hop notes of citrus, tropical fruit and berries, with the somewhat zesty citrus notes dominating here, as seems to be typical of Motueka with those distinct lime peel notes. While those fruits also feel just a tad overripe, with there being just a tad of booziness to this as well, it still drinks easily enough for the ABV. Overall, this makes for a nice New England IPA with a quite varied, although not too vibrant, hop profile and a good body and mouthfeel.

FrauGruber Brewing “Fruits On Dope”
440ml can coded “FRESH BEF 23/10/22” and sampled on 27/09/21
€6.99 @ Naiv, Frankfurt, DE
Notes: Brewed with barley, wheat and oats. Hopped with Citra Incognito, Mosaic Incognito, Mosaic Spectrum, Galaxy, Enigma, Monteuka. Labeled at 8.6% ABV.
Look: Clousy golden body beneath a short head of white foam.
Smell: Sweetish malt. Citrusy with lemon, and tangerine.
Taste: Fuller and richer than the aroma suggests with sweetish malt that’s threaded through with notes of lemon candy, tangerine, orange, apple, mango, pineapple, and soft pine. It’s moderately bitter but finishes with some hop burn (and perhaps a touch of alcohol) that keeps it balanced and mainly dry in the finish. Tropical fruits linger.
Feel: Medium bodied and gently crisp and smooth due to all of the extra proteins.
Overall: Another great NEIPA from a German brewer! Really well rounded and balanced. Highly drinkable despite the 8.6% ABV.

Can. From Decervecitas. In water cup. At Albaycin Suites Mar, Almuñecar. Full of tropical fruits with low bitterness that increases a bit at the end of the can, but in general, very balanced. Abv well hidden

Fruits on dope indeed, it's a real fruit bowl.on steroid.
Tropical fruits, orchard fruits and citrus in a perfectly balanced ipa.
They're very good at Frau Gruber!
