De Craftbeer-shop. En vaso de hefe de Bavaria. Viendo You 1x04-05. Fuerte sabor a platano junto tambien con fuerte dulzor acaramelado bastante fresco y ligero alcohol. Le falta, no obstante, algo mas de chispa

Pours a slightly cloudy, reddish mahogany coloration with a medium, creamy head. Smell is dominated by sweet caramel and bready malt and estery banana, with just a hint of dried, dark fruit. The maltiness is actually not quite as rich on the tongue. Although bready, caramel malts are noticeable, there is an almost overpowering estery banana quality to this, as well as a lighter presence of dark fruits: plum, raisin and lightly tart red berries: redcurrant, with just hint of licorice and herbal hoppiness. Finishes with a very light bitterness and some estery banana and light booze lingering in the aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation.

While Frau Gruber brew absolute world-class IPAs, this "Weizendoppelbock" is a little disappointing and not quite up there with the classics. The balance just seems a little off, with the malt complexity not being quite rich enough and the estery banana as well as dark/red fruit notes just being a bit too prominent for my personal taste. There's also a light booziness to this and the mouthfeel could be better as well.
