Watery and coke like this cherry porter is quite drinkable but doesn't bring anything really great to the table. It lacks a certain character to be really apreciated

De Labirratorium. En copa Teku. Jugando a Slain. Las notas a cerezas son muy suaves, dandole un perfil similar a otras porter cafetosas ligeramente acidas. Correcta pero no emociona

Pours a pitch black coloration with a large, foamy head. Smell is quite subdues, with only subtle notes of roasted malt, chocolate and herbal hops coming through, as well as an even fainter hint of black cherries. Taste is kind of the opposite of the nose, with a sweet and slightly tart black cherry note being at the forefront, complemented by roasted malt, chocolate and lighter herbal hops, as well as just a hint of licorice. Finishes semi-dry, with a light bitterness and some cherry tartness lingering in the aftertaste. Thin mouthfeel with a light body and medium carbonation.
Maybe FrauGruber really should stick to (NE)IPAs, as this is another mediocre Stout/Porter by them. With a thin and watery body/mouthfeel and generally weak flavor profile and balance, this really struggles to find it's center. The roasted/bitter notes seem at odds with the cherry tartness and there's just not enough of a rich chocolate note here to really pull this together. It's still drinkable enough, but just disappoints compared to their excellent IPAs.
