Pours a cloudy, deep golden amber coloration with a large, fluffy head. Smells of biscuity, slightly caramelly malt and tropical/citrus/orchard notes of mango, grapefruit and white grape, as well as just a hint of pine. Taste is a great balance of sweet'ish biscuity, slightly caramelly malt and slightly resinous hops with some quite vibrant and varied hoppy notes of tropical, citrus and orchard fruit: mango, pineapple, grapefruit, lime peel, white grape, gooseberry, as well as just a hint of pine and peppery spice coming through in the aftertaste. Finishes with a medium bitterness and some grapefruit, white grape and pine lingering in the aftertaste. Soft mouthfeel with a medium/rich body and medium carbonation.
Quite a nice DIPA that is perhaps just a tad boozy, but showcases the Simcoe, Galaxy and Enigma hop varieties very well, with quite a varied spectrum of different tropical, citrus and orchard fruit notes, while at the same time striking a great balance between sweet malts and quite resinous, bitter hops, starting out a little sweet, but actually turning quite bitter in the finish.
