Copenhagen 16/1 2020. 44 cl can from Østerbro Vin & Spiritus (formerly Gunnar Madsen Vinhandel), Østerbrogade, Kbh. Ø. What looks like a very sombre, grey cloudscape on the can.
Pours hazy, opaque, golden yellow with a medium-sized, dense white head. Settles as thin, almost transparent layer of foam barely covering the surface of the beer. Crawling up the sides of the glass. Substantial lacing.
Aroma is medium-intense, citric, fruity sweet and lightly acidic. Peach, pineapple. Citrus and lemon. Light chemical notes of glue.
Light carbonation. Medium thick, smooth, soft texture.
Flavor has a strong sweetness followed and balanced by a strong citric bitterness. Aftertaste is sweet with a notable citric undercurrent. Lingers for a while leading to a semi-dry finish.
Quite light for a DIPA and quite succesful in hiding the alcohol. Almost gentle for the style.

Pours a cloudy, golden amber coloration with a medium, fluffy head. Smells of light biscuity malt and quite bright tropical/citrus hops, with notes of mango, passion fruit and lime peel, as well as just a hint of pine. Taste follows the nose, with a great balance of light biscuity malt and bright, vibrant tropical/citrus hops, with notes of mango, passion fruit, lime peel and a hint of pineapple, as well as a lightly resinous character, with some pine coming through in the aftertaste. Finishes with a medium bitterness and some mango, lime and pine lingering in the aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation.
Another excellent IPA from FrauGruber showcasing New Zealand hops, with the zesty lime notes of Motueka and sweet, slightly acidic tropical notes of Kohatu really standing out quite vividly, accompanied by a somewhat bitter, resinous edge that provides a bit more character to this and can probably be attributed to the Kohatu as well. Drinks quite refreshing and easy as well, without a hint of booziness coming through.
