Pours a hazy, dark orange coloration with a medium, fluffy head. Smells of biscuity, slightly caramelly malt and tropical/citrus hops, with juicy notes of mango, passion fruit, pineapple, grapefruit and just a hint of pine. Taste is a great balance of biscuity, slightly caramelly malt and bitter, slightly resinous, herbal and quite fruity hops, with some vibrant, juicy tropical notes of mango and passion fruit standing out particularly here, with lighter pineapple, grapefruit and just a hint of blueberry and pine also coming through. Finishes with a medium bitterness and some tropical hops and pine lingering in the aftertaste. Soft mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation.

While I think that FrauGruber's brews have suffered a little since they switched over to a higher production volume facility this finally marks a return to their old form, which is great. I thought that their July releases were generally an improvement and this is the definite high point of those in my opinion, really looking forward to their August collaborations now. There are some really well-defined, vibrant hops to this and while it's quite sweet and juicy overall, it doesn't remain one-dimesional, sporting some rather bitter and somewhat herbal and resinous accents as well, which I personally love in a New England IPA. Mouthfeel is good as well, much better than in some of their previous releases, but could still be improved a little.
