De Labirratorium. En copa Teku. Jugando a Hellblade.

Pours a pitch-black coloration with a large, foamy, dark brown, quickly receding head. Smells of roasted, caramel malt, chocolate and peanuts, with just a hint of licorice also coming through. Taste follows the nose, with a great balance of roasted, caramel malt and distinct milk chocolate and peanut butter notes, with just a hint of licorice and earthy, bitter accents also coming through. Finishes bittersweet, with a light bitterness and some chocolate and peanut butter lingering in the aftertaste. Full, creamy mouthfeel with a medium/rich body and light/medium carbonation.
Not being a big fan of pastry stouts, I enjoyed this a lot more than I thought I would, due to it's great balance of sweet and roasted, slightly bitter notes. While this is not all that complex, it does what it says on the tin rather well, with quite distinct chocolate and peanut butter notes that never turn quite too cloying or artificial though, being balanced very nicely by the roasted malts and bitter, earthy hops. While it may be just a tad too sweet and boozy for my personal taste, I think that this is very nicely balanced overall, with a great body and mouthfeel as well.
