Pours a hazy, deep orange coloration with a small, fluffy head. Smells of light biscuity malt and citrus/tropical hops, with notes of grapefruit, lime peel, passion fruit and mango. Taste is a great balance of light biscuity malt and fruity, juicy, slightly herbal hops, with citrus, tropical and lighter berry notes of grapefruit, lime peel, passion fruit, mango and gooseberry. Finishes with a medium bitterness and some grapefruit, passion fruit and gooseberry lingering in the aftertaste. Soft mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation.
I enjoyed this a good bit more than the last brew I had from FrauGruber, with the hops being more expressive and well-defined here and the Citra standing out particularly. This is dominated by zesty citrus notes, as well as lighter, slightly acidic tropical notes and hints of berries, with a good bitterness and some light herbal accents as well, while the rather high ABV is hardly noticeable here. It actually reminds me of their recent Weak As I Am DIPA a lot, but with less hop burn. Overall, this makes for an enjoyable NEIPA with an expressive hop character and a good mouthfeel.
