Pours a hazy, orange coloration with a large, foamy head. Smells of light biscuity malt and citrus/tropical hops, with notes of grapefruit and passion fruit, as well as some grassy accents. Taste is a great balance of light biscuity malt and fruity, juicy, slighty dank and grassy hops, with citrus and tropical notes of grapefruit, pineapple and passion fruit, as well as hints of grassy weed. Finishes with a medium bitterness, light hop burn and some grapefruit and passion fruit lingering in the aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation.
While I would hesitate to call this a "Session IPA" at 4.8% ABV, as they do on the can, it nevertheless makes for a very flavorful and full-bodied brew for the still relatively low alcohol content. FrauGruber always used to do these low-ABV beers really well and it's nice to see that they still do. This makes for a very easy-drinking and refreshing brew with a great mix of sweet tropical and zesty citrus fruit that's perfect for the current temperatures and you could knock back a few of without passing out in the sun. Why is it the same price as a Double IPA though...?
