Pours a hazy, dark orange coloration with a medium, fluffy head. Smells of light biscuity malt and tropical, citrus hops, with notes of mango, papaya and tangerine. Taste is an excellent balance of light biscuity malt and fruity, juicy, slightly floral and grassy hops, with tropical, citrus and berry notes of mango, papaya, passion fruit, grapefruit, tangerine and hints of blueberry and gooseberry. Finishes with a light bitterness and strong hop burn, with some mango, papaya and tangerine lingering in the aftertaste. Soft mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation.
I really enjoyed this at first, even though it's not my prefered flavor profile for a NEIPA, being a bit one-dimensional, with that typical fruit salad character to it. While it does that rather well, being quite juicy and tropical, especially for a brew single-hopped with Mosaic, the strong hop burn in the aftertaste, really put a damper on my enjoyment here after a couple of sips. I honestly haven't encountered hop burn this strong in a NEIPA in a long time and it's kind of a shame, because the hops really stand out quite juicy, vibrant and well-defined here otherwise and I don't think I ever got quite such intense tropical vibes from Mosaic ever before.
