Pours a hazy, orange coloration with a medium, fluffy head. Smells of biscuity malt and tropical, citrus hops, with notes of passion fruit, papaya and grapefruit. Taste is a great balance of biscuity malt and fruity, juicy and dank hops, with strong tropical and lighter citrus notes of passion fruit, papaya, mango and grapefruit, as well as some grassy weed. Finishes with a light bitterness and some passion fruit, papaya and dank weed lingering in the aftertaste, Soft mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation.
This makes for a nice, quite tropical New England IPA that shows off Strata's typical notes of passion fruit and dank weed quite nicely, with Riwaka adding some more tropical notes and citrus accents into the mix. I'm also getting that certain starburst candy character from this that I usually associate with El Dorado hops. A bit too sweet and juicy for my personal taste, but that slight dankness provides a certain counterbalance here at least.
