Pours a motor oil back, quite viscous, no head formation save an ultra thin wisp of tan on the edges. Nose is bourbon and charred barrel, molasses, some salinity, leather, tobacco; very little sweetness on the nose. Taste is very balanced - dark chocolate, tobacco spice, charred barrel, vanilla, roast. Excellent highlight the barrel without being overly boozy or sweet. Feel is likewise very nice, with a healthy amount of chew and no carbonation. Overall, this is a really great example of the style and showcases roast and barrel without needless adjuncts.
