From the can, it pours a golden color with a large thick just off white head. Light malt scent in the nose. Light malt flavor in the mouth. Enjoyable!

Draft at PBR. Cloudy pale golden/yellow, thin head. Grainy aroma with light fruity notes. Taste is light and bready, smooth with a soft crisp finish. Refreshing.

Poured from a can into a snifter. Pours golden yellow orange with a fully white head. Smells of sweet cereal grain. Tastes of sweet grain, but great grain profile. Beer is light bodied and easy drinking, good carbonation Overall, a very good beer.

I picked this up over the weekend at Total Wine in Springfield, Virginia. I never heard of this brewery and it's a little late in the season for blond ale, but I guess I have a thing for pinup stars from eighty five years ago. This is balanced and light, with low carbonation and a mild bread note. A little yeasty in the nose and a little thicker in the mouthfeel than a lot of the style, but the texture is still smooth. I would definitely try other stuff from these guys because this is a hard style to impress in and this is pretty decent.

Can:
Pours with a slightly surprising medium haze with highly blurred objects detectable through the body. Matte gold with a yellow hue. The head saves look a tad with loosely stacked bubbles standing tall enough, lasting well and leaving a couple streams of lace.
Nose and taste have malt as the main component that is neutrally sweet, with a bit of orchard fruit. There are hints of very slightly herbal hops in the nose (thinking more of leaves than ground herbs), but really everything is pretty light - as expected for the style. Taste is a little more fruity - honey crisp apple, and slightly on the sweet side. It seemed sweeter initially, but balanced out as I drank. Nice carbonation, countered by a little less dry ending than I'd prefer.
