A good Oatmeal Stout!! Hits all the marks: Smooth, malty, some coffee, some chocolate, not too light. Poured from a16 oz. can into a pint glass, this beer features a medium density brown color with a lot of reddish highlights coming through, The big frothy light tan head holds up very well and there is a ton of foamy lacing on the glass...a good looking beer!! Aroma and taste match up with the look. Maltiness, milk chocolate and coffee are all prominent in the nose and taste. Not overly sweet and not much lactose...this is a "breakfast" stout not a dessert beer. Mouthfeel is medium rich and very smooth as you would expect with a good Oatmeal Stout. A fine offering from a brewery that is beginning to be featured in Hampton Roads beer stores.
