Served on-tap in a standard pint glass, this beer draws a very dark brown, practically black color not interested in letting in any light at all. Has a slightly tan/off-white head that's an inch when first served that settles eventually to a medium sized ring lining the inside of the glass along. Not much lacing. Aromas of roasted malt sweetness, milk sugar, and some chocolate notes are all here for sure. Taste wise, this has a big roasted, smokey, caramel malt and milk sugar sweetness along with some chocolate notes and a bit of earthy, floral hop bitterness. Has a fairly crisp, also smooth and slightly frothy, somewhat lactic, medium bodies mouthfeel with moderate carbonation. Has a clean finish with a somewhat dry aftertaste. A very good beer all around.
